Youth Programs

Siloam Post 29 is proud each year to sponsor a number of programs for children and youth including these listed below;

Boys State:
American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. It is a participatory program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county and state government.  (Find out more information about the program and for eligibility)

American Legion Baseball was founded in 1925 and since has sponsored a nationwide baseball program.  Many of their players moved on to play college and professional baseball.  In fact 81 have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.   (Find out more, we have room for additional teams, players and sponsors.)

A competition in which high school or junior high students prepare an oration with the subject matter on some aspect of the Constitution, with emphasis on a citizen’s duties and obligations to our government.  Should they win the competition in the state, they will then go on to the national contest.   (View additional information on the rules and regulations).
